watts – the use of kilo watts?
I am investigating the use of solar cell applications to small-scale and possibly larger. However, The simple answer to a problem escapes me. And I can not think of a better place to try to get a legitimate response here. The measurements of watts say in a 60-watt bulb. What is this calculation comes from? Is watts per hour in second place, or what? Same with the use of energy production watt solar panels. say a 10 watt panel. Is this ten watts per hour, second, or what? I'm trying to get a general idea based on my consumption daily energy houses how big or how high power panels i have to sumpliment or nearly eliminate the need for expensive power energy companies. Hopefully someone can shed some light here.
Watts is power unit. Power is energy per unit time. By definition, one watt is July 1 per second. So the answer to your question is a 60 watt light bulb requires 60 watts of power. It takes 60 joules per second. A 10-watt solar panel produces 10 watts or 10 joules per second. We often hear the company speaks electricity kilowatt-hour. This is a unit of energy (energy per time). So if a bulb 60 watt is for an hour, then it has used 60 watt-hour (or 0.06 kWh) of energy.
