I have a TH350 transmission problem?

Ok, I have a 1977 GMC Jimmy, its all the material. I have a 400 small block under the hood, now to transport. currently I have 2 1 each on the table beside the truck. both have problems, (table has no trans orginail reverese is that of which is not 4 screws old man and a rotating joint i belive, is also leaking like crazy) I was thinking a rebuild kit? High even ProFormance? I have no idea what I'm doing. I have two maunals, it sheds some light on what to do. but I must buy a new trans, rebuilt trans, or get the kit and do it myself, only I have $ 625 right now. and was supported in reconstruction, but I'm not segura.-thanks, Vic

A rebuilt transmission is probably your best bet, are fairly inexpensive and work as well as a new one if done well. You could consider trading both of their transmissions to reconstruct a to bring down the price.
