Great Dane shedding after heartworm treatment?

My wife and I are promoting a Great Dane that is increasingly the second round of heartworm treatment. She has been shedding horribly for 4 weeks. We love and want to keep, but it is curious been spilled and all the time or if it's just the treatment of arsenic and the fact that it is increasingly being neglected.
