I really need help with a stray cat.?

I have a cat that lives outside my door and in our shed. Since it is the winter months, the cat has a hard life. It feeds on the garbage, we have a minor problem, but we're more concerned about the health of the cat. I have not seen the cat for a long time, I hope has not frozen to death. What do I have to do?! You can not get inside our building, and just on the porch. We have been leaving food on the floor, but in vain. Our house cat continues to eat a day later.

Have you tried putting a small bowl of food on the porch and shed? There must be a place where the cat is sliding under both so you should be able to put a small container with food in it. Put enough under your cat others go for it, then check the next day to see if it has been touched. I had a lot of feral cats that I fed and cared for. And places are very resouceful in order to seek warmth. I also built a cat house insulated to them, had four different cubicals were isolated and carpeting. I had it in my front porch and use it regularly.
