Could anyone shed some light on these questions about Judaism?

I've always been surprised by the small number of Jews around the world compared to other religions. And recently, I read in this forum that Jews do not try to convert others. Why? Assuming that he wanted convert to Judaism, would not allow it to become a Jew? I would also like to ask another question. From what I read, Jesus did not play any role whatsoever in Judaism. Since Jesus is known to have abolished some Mosaic laws, then I guess that Judaism has to be as intolerant as Islam in some issues, and the punishment for adultery can be stoned to death. Am I right? And does this apply? By the way, religion has an influence on national legislation of Israel? (Is Israel a secular state?)

I'll follow up and gratvol baryisrael comments: 1) The size of a court that could impose penalties capital was 71 judges, and at that time ruled that a court sentenced one person to death in a generation was being too strict. 2) Yes nevertheless be allowed to convert to Judaism. All branches of Judaism converts welcome. Not actively proselytize because that was never part of the Jewish faith. Judaism to convert to the religion not because that would imply that everyone needs to be Jewish in order to make a relationship with God, participate in the vision of the Torah of repairing the world, and "get to heaven." However, this is not true. The Jewish idea is that the Torah of Moses is true for all humanity, whether Jewish or not. The Torah presents seven mitzvot – seven laws – for non-Jews to observe. These seven laws are the pillars of civilization human, and named the "Seven Laws of Noah." They are: 1) Do not kill. 2) Do not steal. 3) Do not worship false gods. 4) Do not be sexually immoral. 5) Do not eat the limb of an animal before being killed. 6) Do not curse God. 7) Set up courts and bring offenders to justice. We believe that any human being who observes faithfully these laws earns a proper place in heaven. 3) You're right, Jesus plays no role in Judaism. We recognize it as a rabbi, a teacher, and nothing else. 4) As with all religions, some extremists take things too far. Judaism has its share too, though to my knowledge even among conservatives Jews-ultra death sentences imposed not for the sins such as adultery. 5) Yes, religion has a significant influence on the laws of Israel.
