Laptop will not recognize the audio input devices?

I have a new Logitech microphone, and my computer does not recognize it at all when plugged (Not a USB microphone). Not appear in the device manager or included in the audio input devices. No installation CD or more statements in the manual. Can anyone shed some light on this? Appreciate it.

There are no standard microphones Plug and Play devices, so no drivers and your laptop will not recognize that you have attached a microphone. Double-click the speaker icon in the tray to display the settings for your audio device. Select the "Recording" setting to adjust the microphone volume.
