How to make steel trusses, 23 feet (7000mm) 2 feet (600 mm) to the apex of the bottom chord,? thanks!?
I need help! I lost my cabin in a wild fire, as my finances are limited, I was hoping to rebuild a steel shed / cabin (more resistant fire) myself and buy the materials instead of buying a kit shed, and not to build more of them to use, using thinner metal, which is more easy to weld and easy to break. Ideally, a garage plan would be better, but once you figure out how to make armor, you could probably find the wall framing. I've included a photo of armor I've seen. http://i941.photobucket.com/albums/ad252/paulsnaps/smltruss.jpg, thank you very much Paul
The first thing you should do before even reading the rest of my answer is to check local building codes. Sometimes the codes specify that a professional should build their roof truss, as the armature is critical to your cabin and fall 's structural integrity. Now here's my advice, I know you are on a budget limited. But the construction of armor is not something you learn to do in a day or even possibly a week. It takes a lot of knowledge and practice. I would call a constructor from a commercial source of supply and talk to them about the construction of steel armor. You might even be able to provide you "Kit" armor, where they cut all the parts and pieces and send you a diagram on how they are put together. I know that is not the answer you were expecting. But I remember from when I started to learn how to make armor. It is not something you can learn from a book, it takes practice and patience. You do not want to risk its roof in failing that, I hope you pointed in the right direction.
