What kind of dog should I get?

I had a Cairn Terrier who died a year ago, and it is time for a new dog. I love my Cairn but I am studying the option of a new race, I'm looking for dogs that are adorable, playful, intelligent, they do not shed much, and are not very vocal. I would love Husky but have a way to throw a lot, so any dogs that are a bit like the Huskies (seem to), it would be preferable.
