Is the Bible literal or allegorical?

Before you answer, there are allegorical language used in the prophecy concerning the kingdoms and events future. These same people claim to be Christian. Based on what? Was Jesus' death on the cross a fact real? Did he really forgive all sins through His shed blood, or is that only the colorful language? Greetings, The Bible is literal and metaphorical. There is not always a clear line between the two. God uses a literary development than anyone else can use. I call it the literal metaphor. For example the story of Abraham and Isaac is both a literal history, and one figurative. That is an image of Christ's sacrifice, while at the same time is a true story. The same is true of the story of Jonah. His three days in the belly was a metaphor for the death and resurrection of Christ.
