How to get my apartment organized?
For me, things are organized in my apartment is not Biggie, but when it comes to stay that way I'm at a loss. I write, paint, sew and sculpt for a living and the proof is in my apartment. I am easily overwhelmed by confusion with they accumulate. I am aware of my hoarding problem (I neglect to throw things out of fear of the remote possibility that I will need this extra coat button or scraps fabric) I have decided, reluctantly, to shed my excess junk, before I head to college. Any advice on how to organize and maintained that way?
Want to get organized and stay that way means you're more than halfway. Here are some tips that might work for you: 1) Start by sorting everything into categories that you mentioned above. All things written together. All materials of painting together. All materials Sewing: together. And so on. You will need to apply this principle to all other aspects of his life. Clothing: combine similar elements. Kitchen items: whether as different products, or organizing centers dependent on the activity (cooking, food preparation, dishes, etc) and so on. 2) If possible, a decision on a location of your apartment for each activity. Ideally, it will be the same location, for doing the activity and storage of articles with this activity. Then you must be diligent in not letting things deviate from the assigned home – it will be the hard part! By making one of its activities, you will have to train not just walk away, but always leave the location tidy. 3) any container. A messy pile of papers can be magically transformed into something that at least looks organized if all papers are square and put inside a container. There is no need for closets or drawers to store things inside own containers to the weather may be part of your decor. The use of plastic or attractive paper boxes, baskets, what appeals to you. If the content is not visible, it is possible you want to label the containers as well. 4) Whenever you take something in your apartment, find a home for it immediately – even if "home" is garbage! Mail and newspapers are usually the biggest clutter culprits, so get in the habit of handling these things at once. Read the newspaper and put it in the recycling bin immediately. Open your mail near the trash and throw everything that does not need more attention. This will include most of the envelopes and, indeed, all spam. There are a number of excellent web sites that will give you more tips, including: http://www.flylady.net/ (an excellent resource!) Most households do not resemble the pictures in the decorating magazines and used to live! What's more, can only be that his style of organization as a creative person, is a bit different from the average neat freak. If you can get their hands on something right away, even in the midst of that cell towers of papers on the table, then there can be called disorganized. Good luck in your very worthy goal!
