What is the best bike around town?
I have 21, lives in Bromley, Kent (London), drivers have a full license (with Pass Plus), have passed my CBT and am doing my CAD in the next couple of weeks. I'm looking to get a 500 600cc Honda (CBR preferably but why I have insurance that is high so probs a Hornet). A couple of questions … What motorbike helmet do you recommend? The two dealers I've spoken too have said the top of the Shoei range are best for the security of 500 pounds, but looks much money to spend. I want to be safe and of course would be willing to spend that money, but do not want to spend £ 500 on a helmet that is not better than a £ 200 one. someone could also shed some light on what is expected to pay for insurance. I understand that there are many issues involved in Regarding insurance, but I'm looking for an estimate. Maybe someone who is or has been in the same position? Thanks in advance.
The best helmet motorcycle about is that you fit like a glove. Shoeis Arai and the rest are next to useless if the internal form is incorrect shape of his own head. luminosity also is a factor and most expensive helmets tend to be lighter, but comfort is their number one concern. In a game where integrity of the cover is an important issue then your brain could not survive the G forces generated anyway. Having said that I would not buy a £ 20 helmet and feel comfortable with it on a bike capable of more than 30 mph. Luckily my head is in the form of Arai, but cheek pressed parts make me look like a Chinese. Best value for money, no doubt Shark was a storm I had in the 90's. Comfortable, quiet and relatively lightweight kevlar shell.
