Dude, you are deep in the mud. Umm. . . John Adams made this statement to explain to people that that particular scene is not was part of the great revolution. Some people thought it definitely was and it definitely cleared things up. Another example is, he too was stating part of his definition of revolution. Not clear, but he was telling us what was not in their definition. One last example, the revolution was in the minds of people. If it was in the minds of the people, the revolution had occurred before that, and even if this scene had not yet produced the revolution would have been a part of he and the people.
