Solar energy system to heat a barn and save energy?
Hi, This is an unusual request, but I hope that some experts DIY could reach a solution to my query. I have a small garden shed wooden, poorly insulated, you want to use as a photographic studio. I'd find a way to keep non-freezing temperatures during the day without using any electricity. Are there any device that could order online or find local stores to let me in the heat of this small area (≈ 4 cubic meters) with a small panel and solar heating device? Ideally, a system that collects enough energy to keep the place of freezing and overnight. Maybe a dream. Thanks for any input. Best regards
I think I could do whatever I want, if built properly from the beginning, but will require the construction of substantial improvement, possibly more than worthwhile. I have seen many plants on the internet for DIY solar panels are mounted on the walls facing south and provide heat to the interior, so that part is easily done. However, the building will have to be well insulated in the first place. And, if you want to store the heat for a while you need to give this building part of the thermal mass so you can do that. Many people build structures heated by the sun on a concrete slab is well insulated below and to the sides with a specially made foam insulation for direct burial, and this is a way to place the warmth to go to then store the heat for a while, too. Another method is a lot of jugs of water inside their building. Most people do not like giving up so much of their interior space with stored water however. Of course, these are just opinions of people, you get others.
