If you've been wondering how to build a flat roof shed, then you've come to the right place. A flat roof shed is the most common type of storage shed. It is the most manageable of the roof construction shed and rolls of asphalt used as roofing material. At the top of a ship flat roof will only require re-roofing every 10 to 20 years if properly maintained.

Step 1

Cut five 8-2-feet-4 to the horizontal supports at the top of the Lay shed by the roof. They completely through the two longest parallel walls as soon as the walls. Space them in terms of equality and nail them on the roof supports with 2 1/2-inch nails.

Step 2

Now you will add protection to the roof. Before make sure it is dry and clear of waste. Starting at one end, place a layer of waterproofing on the roof. Be sure to leave an extra 2 inches to hang over the edges. This acts as a protective membrane and provide an additional barrier against the weather.

Step 4
The next step is to put the rolls of asphalt on top of the underlayment. Make sure you leave more than 2 inches or 3 hanging over the edge cover everywhere. This provides drainage of rainwater. Tack rolls into place. When the roof is covered, use nails to secure the asphalt in place. Nails should be 4-6 inches apart.

 

Step 5

Cover entire roof with a tar-based solution paint the ceiling. This will ensure you get the maximum life span out of the shed roof.

That definitely was easy, but there is little to remember. Inspect the roof of the shed or twice a year or after any storm bad. Be sure to pay attention to the seams on the roof where the asphalt overlapped. If you find any deficiencies secure them with roofing cement. Also ensure that no accumulation of water. It will become heavy and can cause your roof collapse.
