Lawnmower – Pullcord is very difficult to achieve?

I decide whether to buy a new mower. My Craftsman (6.75hp) is 10 years old – Kept in a shed and in good condition. Tuned every year. Since last summer the cable became very difficult. Not sure why why this might be. Any ideas?

It would have to do with compression. That's what you're fighting to pull the cable. Check your oil. can need to change?
