What breed of dog should I buy?

I live in Central Florida and has a decent size patio, pool and house. My plan is to run maybe 2 miles a day with my dog (who do, but I wanted a running mate for not being alone.) size and detachment not bother me, but I wanted to know which races you should consider before committing to one. Thanks! Actually, this was my first pet, dog or for that matter. I had shitz tzus and yorkies and trained from puppies to do that no problem.

Given the warm climate in which they live and plan on doing plenty of exercise outdoors with your dog, we recommend keeping away from the races that have thick double coats (labs, huskies, German shepherds, etc.) and also have short-nosed breeds (boxers, bulldogs, mastiffs, etc) as they tend to overheat more easily. Some races I would recommend the Dalmatian, Vizsla, Weimaraner, Rhodesian Ridgeback, or any of the pointers short hair. If you've never had a large dog before I recommend also enroll in obedience class at least one with your new dog. Training and management Large dogs can be much more difficult and challenging with small dogs.
