Creating a cedar storage shed
Cedar seems to be the wood of choice when building storage yard woodshed. Why so many people want cedar? The most obvious reason is that smells nice and looks fabulous. There are many other types of wood that could be used as pine, oak, or cypress. But we would like our cedar shed. So here is a brief explanation about the attraction of cedar for the construction of shed, where cedar trees are grown and harvested.
Cedar is growing in places as far south as California in the U.S. to the north to Northern British Columbia in Canada. For a distance of 1500 kilometers along the Pacific coast of North America on the slopes and valleys grow through of the vast tracts of coniferous forests. Among the many species of conifers in the forest also was the western red cedar. The future of these forests is so important to the economies of states and the province where they grow that are carefully managed. Harvesting and reforestation is practiced diligently to ensure future supplies cedar available.
A record is made of white wood cedar and redwood. The white wood nearest the bark grows and is called the sap wood and red wood grows near the center of the trunk and the wood is called "heart." Natural oils are at the heart of cedar wood western red which preserve the wood and resist insect attacks. With proper care cedar ages well and will withstand the elements for many, many years.

Cedar is easy to cut, plane, glue, nails and shape that makes it a real pleasure work with. And when stained cedar finish a rich glossy surface. For all these reasons is why I prefer cedar sheds.
