Some say it's necessary to have some basic carpentry skills to cope with one of the do throw yourself kits. But even if you have no carpentry skills, if you can read a set of shed plans and step by step instructions, you should have no problem with building your own ship. You can always appeal to a few friends to help you out. The bottom line is, if you need extra storage space and is on a limited budget, selecting one of the throw-it-yourself kits are a great option.

Shed kits come in a variety of sizes and differ in what is included. Some only come with all necessary hardware such as brackets, screws, hinges, etc, so there is no uncertainty in the hardware to buy. These kits shed also come with a complete list of materials you will need to buy and step by step instructions.

The other kind of do it yourself shed kits come with all the above and all the wood precut lengths and angles necessary. This type of shed kit will save you time and frustration. Once you receive the kit, you should be able to jump right and start building your new backyard shed.

None of the teams I've seen come with pre-finished wood however, you have to paint or stain the ship once you have built. I always recommend a manual of good quality exterior paint to protect your investment against the elements outdoors. Using a good quality paint lasts longer than a econmy brand paint and make it easier to keep clean.

Of course, you have some skills as a carpenter and the same type of projects, then using one of the do yourself shed kits will be an easy project for you to complete.
